REad@Revamp
THURSDAYS, 8.30PM
At Revamp, we make Friday Eve an affair with Allah. Once a week to just give our souls the nourishment it so deserves. We spend the night reading the Quran, praying Isyak together, making doas, qasidahs, and share light reminders over tea and refreshments.
Weekly Schedule:
We recite Surah Yasin, Al-Kahf, and one Juz of the Quran together each week, with each person taking turns to recite half a page. We complete reciting the entire Quran (khatam) within a year.
Brothers participate on-site (supper served), while sisters join online (except on the last Thursday of each month, where both brothers and sisters gather at Revamp).
Monthly Hosting:
On the first Thursday of each month, we open the REad session for hosting at a brother's house, open to brothers only. The host's address is shared via email upon registration.
On the last Thursday of each month, all brothers and sisters gather at Revamp. And we call this night as the NOR: Night of Remembrance. We recite Yasin, Kahfi and Al-Mulk, sing qasidahs and make doas including for Palestine. Supper is potluck and our trademark Revamp tea is served :)
Ramadan Challenge:
During Ramadan, we aim higher. We khatam the Quran within the blessed month, reciting one Juz every night!
Participation:
This session is open to all brothers and sisters at no charge. Supper and light refreshments are provided, and donations and sponsors for refreshments are welcome.
Registration:
Brothers: On-site participation requires registration. Register here.
Sisters: Join online via Zoom using ID: 560 083 5003. No registration required; please join using your full name.
Additional Information:
What if I wish to join but I can’t read the Quran yet?
Just come, sit and listen. Do you know that when you just listen to the Quran, Allah will shower you with His mercy?
Allah The Exalted says in the Quran:
“So, when the Qur'an is recited, then listen to it and pay attention that you may receive mercy.” (7:204)
What if I can read but I’m not fluent?
Then this is exactly the platform for you! 99% of all who attend the Tadarus are those who are beginners level. They kept on coming and treated the tadarus as their training ground, and in no time, their fluency gets better without them realizing it!
Plus, with the “zero-judgement environment” at Revamp, you are at home!
Why you should join the Tadarus:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "No people sit in a gathering remembering Allah, but the angels surround them, mercy covers them, tranquility descends upon them and Allah remembers them before those who are with Him." [Sunan Ibn Majah]
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "Whoever recites a letter from the Book of Allah, he will be credited with a good deed, and a good deed gets a ten-fold reward. I do not say that Alif-Lam-Mim is one letter, but Alif is a letter, Lam is a letter and Mim is a letter." [At- Tirmidhi]
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "The one who is proficient in the recitation of the Quran will be with the honorable and obedient scribes (angels), and he who recites the Quran and finds it difficult to recite, doing his best to recite it in the best way possible, will have two reward." [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, "Read the Qur'an, for it will come as an intercessor for its reciters on the Day of Resurrection." [Muslim]
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, " "The one who was devoted to the Qur'an will be told on the Day of Resurrection: 'Recite and ascend (in ranks) as you used to recite when you were in the world. Your rank (in the heaven) will be determined by the last verse you recite."' [Abu Dawud and At- Tirmidhi]
May Allah make us be companions of the Quran and be pleased with us all! Amin!
